{"id":46812,"date":"2025-01-06T10:28:57","date_gmt":"2025-01-06T09:28:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theark.ch\/?p=46812"},"modified":"2025-05-19T16:50:38","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T14:50:38","slug":"dufour-aerospace-partners-with-air-zermatt-to-pioneer-drone-use-for-emergency-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theark.ch\/en\/news\/dufour-aerospace-partners-with-air-zermatt-to-pioneer-drone-use-for-emergency-services\/","title":{"rendered":"dufour aerospace partners with air zermatt to pioneer drone use for emergency services"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dufour.aero\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>dufour aerospace<\/strong><\/a><strong> is pleased to announce a new collaboration with <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.air-zermatt.ch\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>air zermatt<\/strong><\/a><strong>, a globally recognized leader in rescue operations. the partnership aims to explore the use of drones in improving emergency services, particularly in the rugged mountain terrain of the valais region.<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;a pioneering spirit is at the core of air zermatt. we are constantly working to improve performance for our patients and customers and reduce our ecological footprint. drones are a key part of this, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dufour.aero\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dufour aerospace<\/a> supports our goals perfectly,&#8221; says daniel aufdenblatten, ceo of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.air-zermatt.ch\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">air zermatt<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>in a three-year program, dufour aerospace and air zermatt will analyze and test various scenarios for the use of drones in rescue operations. the overarching aim is to improve the supply security for the population of valais. \u201cwe are directly impacted when, for example, road or rail connections are disrupted, as was the case last summer in the matter and saastal valleys. in such situations, drones make perfect sense when transporting essential goods like medications. drones equipped with sensors for terrain analysis are also valuable,\u201d says daniel aufdenblatten, ceo of air zermatt. \u201cwe want to start developing the drone applications of tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200d<strong>unlocking the enormous potential of drones<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cwith air zermatt, we\u2019ve found a partner who understands the vast potential of drones combined with deep mountain aviation experience. we complement each other perfectly,\u201d says sascha hardegger, ceo of dufour aerospace. \u201cit\u2019s not about what drones are doing today. rather we are interested in how drones can be used beneficially over long distances and for extended periods. a hundred years ago, no one could have imagined how important commercial aviation would become. the same applies to drones\u2014we are really only at the beginning of a massive development, and the potential is huge.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200d<strong>shared vision and values<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>dufour aerospace and air zermatt share many common values. both companies are based in the valais region, and thomas pfammatter, one of dufour aerospace\u2019s founders, continues to work as a helicopter pilot for air zermatt. however, there is a greater reason for this collaboration. \u201cof course, we know dufour aerospace and have followed their drone development progress for some time. more importantly, we share the same vision\u2014the population in the mountains is close to our hearts. and, of course, we see great commercial potential in drone use,\u201d says aufdenblatten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200d<strong>looking ahead<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>so, what\u2019s next?
