Flexibility and precision: the watchwords of Leyat-Prédémec
The Leyat-Prédémec mechanical workshop has been supplying its customers since 1984, with precision and flexibility as its core values. Its extensive range of machines, installed at its Saint-Pierre-de-Clages plant, and its fifteen or so qualified employees enable it to manufacture a wide range of mechanical parts. Railways, machine manufacturers, metal construction, watchmaking, leather goods: the items created by Leyat-Prédémec are varied and meet a wide range of needs among customers located in Valais and throughout Switzerland.
Leyat-Prédémec is part of the industrial history of the Valais. Founded in 1984 by Jérôme Monnat Sr, the company is based in Saint-Pierre-de-Clages, in the former Prodi Cuisines factory. The company, which trains several apprentices each year, is now run by Cédric and David Zermatten and Richard Monnat (Managing Director).
Focus on precision milling and turning
In Saint-Pierre-de-Clages, the company occupies a large space for its fleet of machines, which can be used to mill or turn various raw metal materials. The company has gradually equipped itself with modern, high-performance machines. For example, the company is equipped with a latest-generation CNC, enabling it to machine large parts (up to 3 metres and 5 tonnes) on 5 axes, with precision to one hundredth of a millimetre. The company is also active in levelling and marking metal parts.
Leyat-Prédémec works for a large number of customers, supplying a wide variety of parts. It regularly supplies parts for the machinery industry, or certain precision metal components for the watchmaking industry, or even belt buckles. The SME also has a wide range of partners and suppliers, including for powder coating, heat treatment and certified welding.
