AI-Powered Virtual Internships to Prepare for Professional Reality

At the end of 2025, the Valais-based company mobiletic launched an innovative tool powered by artificial intelligence that enables, among other things, the virtual recreation of real professional situations. Called “mactiv”, the system allows young people looking for training opportunities, individuals undergoing career changes, or foreign workers to experience immersive professional situations before committing to a specific profession. An innovation project supported by The Ark helped finance part of this development and supported its implementation. A nationwide rollout is already underway within the IPT Foundation (Intégration pour tous / Integration for All).

“Our solution brings training closer to professional reality and represents a powerful driver for inclusion,” says Alexandre Comby, CEO of mobiletic.

Designed as a flexible educational tool, the system offers various interactive scenarios: a typical working day, a real-life situation, or a challenge to solve. Led by artificial intelligence agents embodying different roles — coach, colleague, client, or patient — these modules allow users to face realistic situations while remaining in a safe environment. Artificial intelligence personalizes the experience according to each participant’s profile, providing preparation that is much closer to real-world conditions.

The “mactiv” module is integrated into mobiletic’s LCMS (Learning & Content Management System) and is part of the company’s suite of AI tools, which also includes scenario-design assistants, support chatbots, and other complementary tools.

A Response to the Challenges of Professional Integration

This innovation directly addresses the current challenges of the labor market. In Switzerland, thousands of people seek integration or reintegration every year: young people leaving school without formal qualifications, newly arrived foreign workers, employees changing careers, and women returning to work.

The tool developed by mobiletic gives them the opportunity to explore a profession in a practical way, build confidence, and prepare effectively without logistical constraints. Each activity can be accessed via a direct link or QR code, making it easy to use on mobile devices.

A First Training Pathway Dedicated to Healthcare

To illustrate the module’s potential, an initial training pathway dedicated to the profession of Healthcare Assistant and Community Care Assistant (ASSC) was designed. This pathway combines traditional training content — multiple-choice questionnaires, texts — with activities that allow learners to enjoy a richer, more realistic, and more engaging learning experience.

Activities generated with mactiv can be integrated into various training contexts, including the virtual internship program “DigiStages,” developed in partnership with the IPT Foundation.

Successful Pilot Phase

A large-scale pilot phase was conducted with a panel of users. More than 50 coaches were trained in the use of the tool, and nearly 40 end users were supported within IPT Geneva’s test structure. Following user feedback, the final adjustments were implemented.

IPT’s national rollout took place during 2026 in three languages and covered nearly 20 professions.

The Ark Foundation financed part of this project. It also contributed through its guidance by helping position the solution and establish the necessary technical connections.

“The support provided by The Ark was more than essential for this virtual internship project and went far beyond the financial aspects. We were able to rely on valuable advice regarding the economic positioning of our solution. Many doors were opened thanks to The Ark team,” adds Alexandre Comby.
